Must see documentary

The Shackleton Endurance Documentary tells the bizarre story of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew during their 1914 expedition to Antarctica.

When their ship, the Endurance, gets stuck in the ice and eventually sinks, an epic battle against the elements begins. With great courage, leadership and teamwork, Shackleton and his men survive for months in one of the most hostile environments on Earth, culminating in a legendary rescue mission.

Personally, I think it's extra nice that Shackleton is a huge PR and marketing man. Featuring in the documentary unique video and photo footage from 1914(!)

In this video, all about the basecamp location in Antarctica. The camp is located in the spectacular and remote southern Ellsworth Mountains. It can only be reached by plane and here we take our first steps into Antarctica, on a natural runway of blue ice.
